Powder Makers

During the residency, Hans Lo began making an album as an expansion on a project started in 2018 called ‘Powder Makers’; whereby an audio and visual ‘scape’ was created by using field recordings, analogue synthesizers, spoken words and still imagery. The intention was to generate and re-interpret folk tales associated with disused factories and abandoned sites around Falmouth and Penryn. The album was presented as a live score at the end of the residency, where a piece of experimental narrative film was projected and formed a visual structure for the performance. Printed and sculptural artefacts accompanied the performance to show the process and research taken to reach the completion of the album.
